Working with Tenant Settings

How this area is used

Tenant Settings are the maintenance area for an existing configuration. Unlike the wizard, this area is meant for direct adjustment of values that already exist.

Typical usage:

  • correcting connectivity details
  • tuning data collection
  • adjusting jobs
  • reviewing AI settings
  • limiting visibility

Screen behavior

The settings are organized by topic so users can focus on one operating area at a time.

In practice, this helps separate:

  • identity and visibility
  • connection management
  • sync tuning
  • job behavior

That is useful because most maintenance changes should be made deliberately and in small steps.

Help inside the product

The settings area includes contextual help for day-to-day work.

Use help especially when:

  • a field appears only in a specific setup
  • CPI-only and Edge Hybrid behave differently
  • a certificate or auth choice is unclear
  • you are unsure whether a change affects only one screen or the full tenant

Typical maintenance cases

Credential rotation

  • update password or OAuth values
  • run a connection test
  • save only when the result is correct

Edge certificate replacement

  • update client or CA certificates
  • confirm SSL-related choices
  • run the Edge test
  • save

Query and sync tuning

  • adjust the hot window or download strategy
  • observe whether visibility improves
  • watch whether load becomes too high

Job adjustment

  • change one interval or source at a time
  • review the effect before tuning further

Good habits

  • make focused changes instead of broad edits
  • test connectivity immediately after connection changes
  • treat visibility changes as access changes, not just UI changes
  • use conservative values first, then optimize

Common mistakes

  • editing several operational topics in one save cycle
  • reducing intervals without checking the impact on load
  • changing certificates without retesting
  • forgetting that some fields only matter in specific setup variants
